Cecile Jarrett

Educator and Founder

Cecile Jarrett is an Educator (including designing and facilitating e- learning programme – MIND Online); award winning Poet who enjoy interacting with people and travelling around Jamaica and the Caribbean. She draws inspiration from the Jamaican /Caribbean landscape and history and from interacting with elders and youth. Mrs. Jarrett is one of the recipients of the Mico University College’s 175 th Anniversary Quintessential Educator citation and award, 2014 awardee of the Prime Minister’s Medal for Outstanding contribution to Education and CCRP 2017 Living Legend award. In addition, her Initiative, Literacy Improvement Programme for Primary Schools downtown, Kingston won the 2018 Signature Project Competition-Kiwanis Club of Eastern Canada and the Caribbean.  As an HRD Process Consultant, she has trained thousands of managers, teachers and front-line staff for almost every major private and public sector organization in Jamaica including Digicel, Cable and Wireless,
SuperClubs, Courts, ATL, OPM, Forestry Department, and Ministry of Agriculture.


She has also lectured at all major tertiary institutions in Jamaica and at Southern Illinois University (SIU) at Carbondale.  In addition to being a graduate of the MICO, Mrs. Jarrett holds an MSc in Occupational Education from SIU; a DipEd and BA from the UWI and several professional certificates in Human Resource Management, Andragogy, E-Learning, Project Management, Finance for Non- Financial Managers and Environmental Stewardship.  Cecile and her husband, Norman co-founded The Literacy Improvement Programme (LIP) for Primary Schools Downtown, Kingston and Poets Parade, an annual event which brings together local and international poets to raise funds for the LIP – the 2018 Kiwanis signature project for Eastern Canada and the
Caribbean.


Mrs. Jarrett is past principal of Stella Maris Preparatory School and St John the Baptist Preparatory School which produced the top GSAT student/girl in 2014 (100% average) and one of the top GSAT boys in 2015. Her after-school programme, St. Anthony’s Learning Transitions, continues to produce scholarship winners and 90% of her students to schools of their first choice. She is now an “Octo-gen” mentor and consultant to preparatory schools, educators and future leaders. She epitomizes excellence and her guiding philosophy is, “the road to excellence is always under construction.”


Her mantra is:
Each day I rise with this thought, “At the start of the day, my purpose is unfulfilled but there is nothing I won’t be able to do because my God who is only good; strengthens and directs me to success.”

Janice Jarrett

Chief Operating Officer

Janice Jarrett, COO, St. Anthony’s Learning Transitions, is an Organizational Development (OD) Consultant (Trainer and Facilitator with over twenty years working in both the public and private sector, locally and regionally.  Miss Jarrett’s experience includes designing e-learning products for the Management Institute for National Development, the Jamaica Constabulary Force, Heart Trust NTA, and the UCC.

Ms. Jarrett has trained directors and managers at the Office of The Prime Minister and Permanent Secretaries, Directors General and Senior Managers for the Government of Montserrat, Cuba and the Bahamas more recently.

As an OD Consultant Miss. Jarrett has been involved in the Public-Sector Transformation. She led the transformation of the Jamaica Council for Persons with Disability (JCPD) from a section to a body corporate – legal entity in keeping with the Disability Act; and the Forestry Department from a department to an Executive Agency.  She has also trained, development and implemented the GOJ’s Performance Management and Appraisal System (PMAS) and Competency Framework throughout several government entities.

Piqued by her interest in the potential of the NSC for nation building and 21st Century workforce skills, she is completing a STEAM and Arts Integration Specialist Certification Programme.  For this certification, she is developing and implementing strategies for infusing STREAM processes and methodologies in the NSC.


Miss Jarrett holds an M.Sc. in Human Resource Management from Nova Southeastern University and a B.A in Tourism Management the University of the West Indies.  She is also a graduate of University of Technology.

She did voluntary work for Stella Maris, Kiwanis Club of Downtown Kingston - Norman and Cecile Jarrett Literacy Improvement Programme for inner city schools and Jamaica AIDS Support.
